She paved the way!

When she first attempted to enter the industry, Kate Dillion was told she was too fat to model, so she starved herself thin. Now the American beauty has found international fame as the face of Italian label Marina Rinaldi. She was the first plus size model to appear on the american cover of Vouge. Kate spent the first years of her adulthood in the fashion industry as a straight model, struggling to maintain her slim figure and fighting anorexia. She was unhealthy, tired and constantly hungry however she continued to push to be thin because she so desperately desired to be a model. After being hospitalized with gastroenteritis and being bed ridden for almost two weeks in 1992, she took some time out to get healthy. She attended regular therapy and went to college for a few years until she found a happy medium with her weight. She returned to the world of modeling in 1996 and reached immediate fame. Today, in 2010 the statuesque beauty, age 36, is expecting her first baby with husband Gabe Levin.
